Ehon mizu ya sora

Hand-stamped miniature book

"In 1780, Nichosai published a book. He had spent some time travelling through Osaka, Edo, and Kyoto, sketching caricatures of Kabuki actors. I have created every print by hand and individually printed each sheet of paper. It should not be regarded as a copy, since I have not reproduced the original writings, but only the illustrations. The book is bound in the traditional Japanese style and features covers made from authentic Japanese fabric. Each copy is unique and belongs to a limited edition of 10 numbered copies."

The edition consists of ten numbered copies with 42 hand made prints, each accompanied by a certificate of authenticity and currently being produced by hand. Every book is made individually, without industrial processes. As a result, each copy displays slight variations that are an integral part of its unique character. Orders will be shipped in the order in which the books are completed, within an estimated period of several weeks from reservation. As this is a handcrafted work, production times may vary slightly. A single copy has been bound in red cloth, making it the only example of its kind within the edition.
